WoW Forever race and class combinations

Which races can play each WoW Forever class?

This WoW Forever race class combinations table brings the nine classes and both factions into one view. It uses the same dataset as the racial ability comparison, so selecting a race takes you to its recorded traits with your class and faction already selected.

The full matrix now matches Blizzard’s September 22 race and class guide. Confirm the option in the character-creation screen before settling on a character.

How to choose a combination with your group

1. Agree on a faction before choosing a race. Use the class and faction filters above to narrow the table. Your selection stays in the address for bookmarking or switching languages.
2. Select a race to open its recorded abilities; the comparison keeps the class and faction from your selection.
3. Check the class changes separately. A newly available race does not establish a new spell or a stronger build.

For a Skyborne group, also check the starting-area and access notes. For leveling together later, use the announced boat connections to discuss a meeting region, then verify the actual route in-game.

Which combinations are highlighted as new?

Blizzard’s September 13 Deep Dive, checked September 16, explicitly names six additions: Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin. Each has a source-linked new · official marker in the table.

Blizzard’s September 22 guide now publishes the full faction matrix. The six additions are still highlighted for readers comparing Forever with original Classic; the complete table no longer depends on the earlier community transcription.

Skyborne: one race, two faction variants

Blizzard’s September 22 guide confirms the Skyborne class lists shown above and clarifies a racial distinction: High Order (Alliance) has Read Ley Line, while Windshaper (Horde) has Skysight.

The Skyborne guide records this correction and distinguishes the race unlock from ongoing game access. Official class availability does not establish final combat tuning; read the source beside the particular claim you are using.

Availability and strength answer different questions

The table answers which characters are listed as available. It does not rank their damage, healing or tanking performance. For a useful comparison, choose the activity you care about and look at the relevant traits: a survival tool, movement convenience or resource interaction may matter differently in different situations.

After choosing a combination, explore the nine-class comparison and plan its level and points in the talent calculator.

What to check before creating your character

Confirm the current client offers your intended faction, race and class together. Read the relevant racial tooltips, then check any access requirement attached to the choice. For a new race, do not assume a general game subscription and a specific race unlock are interchangeable benefits.

Check the launch time and editions, then use the getting-started checklist to prepare your first activity together.
