What changes for a returning Paladin?
The reported WoW Forever Paladin changes focus on three abilities: a new Holy Strike attack, Judgement leaving the active Seal in place, and longer blessings. Undead Paladin is also listed as a new character option in the BlizzCon overview. These are preview reports, with the comparison summarized above.
The guide below explains what to examine when planning a character. It does not turn the reveal into a finished rotation or rank Holy, Protection and Retribution against other classes. The distinction matters because a small set of ability notes leaves many questions about talents, equipment and encounter behavior unanswered.
Judgement and Seals: revisit the sequence
If Judgement leaves a Seal active as reported, the point at which you previously refreshed that Seal deserves another look. On entering the client, first check which effects remain after using Judgement. Then inspect the resource cost and any conditions on the specific Seal you want to use.
Keep those observations separate. Confirming that a Seal remains active does not establish that every Seal has identical interactions, or that an old sequence has become the best sequence. A practical note should name the Seal, describe what happened immediately after Judgement, and record the tooltip wording you tested.
Use the filtered Judgement entry to keep the original report close while comparing it with your observation.
Holy Strike: test the interaction before the rotation
Begin with the ability's own tooltip. Check when it can be learned, its requirements and which circumstances allow it to be used. Then test it alongside the abilities you expect to use regularly.
Those steps answer different questions: whether the attack is available to your character, whether it fits into your sequence, and whether its effect makes a meaningful difference. A resemblance to another attack cannot settle all three. In particular, this guide supplies no unverified damage formula, cooldown or scaling value.
Longer blessings: check the practical details
Longer buffs can change how often a group needs to stop and refresh them. The useful follow-up is to inspect the blessings you actually intend to maintain, including their durations and any requirements shown in the client.
For group planning, record who is responsible for which buff and what happens when it expires or needs to be reapplied. The current report does not provide a complete exception list for every blessing. Keeping that gap visible avoids turning one headline into a promise about every related spell.
Alliance and Horde Paladin race options
The current preview lists Human and Dwarf on Alliance, and Undead on Horde. The Horde option is a meaningful character-planning question for groups that previously associated Paladin with Alliance in original Classic. The Paladin row in the race table brings the available options together.
To examine a particular faction, open the Alliance Paladin comparison or the Horde Paladin option. Those pages describe recorded racial abilities. They do not establish an optimal race for a specialization, and character availability remains subject to direct client verification.
What should you test for your intended role?
| Your question | A useful observation to collect |
|---|---|
| Will my healing plan still work? | Check the relevant talents, resource use and buff interactions in the same setup. |
| Can I use my old tanking sequence? | Check how the abilities available to you behave when establishing and maintaining contact with enemies. |
| Where does a new attack fit? | Check its requirements and interactions before comparing complete sequences. |
| Can my friends and I keep one faction? | Confirm the actual race and class selection in the current client. |

Questions from the campfire
Does Judgement still consume a Seal in WoW Forever?
The BlizzCon preview report says Judgement leaves the active Seal in place. The full interaction and its tuning still need direct Beta testing.
Can Horde players choose Paladin?
Undead Paladin is reported as a new option. Our preview dataset lists Human and Dwarf on Alliance, and Undead on Horde. Confirm availability in the client before making a final character plan.
Is Holy Strike the same as Crusader Strike?
The preview report describes Holy Strike as a new melee attack similar to Crusader Strike. Similarity does not verify identical damage, cooldown, scaling or other behavior.
