How to use the WoW Forever talent calculator

Choose a class, then set the level you want to plan for. The available budget starts at one point at level 10 and reaches 51 at level 60. This is the planner’s level range, not a statement about the current Beta level cap. Each tree shows its own spent total, so a split such as 31 / 20 / 0 remains visible while you inspect individual talents.

The small + adds one point. Selecting the talent icon opens a detail card with its current effect, next rank, prerequisites and every available rank description. On a phone, the same card provides both add and refund buttons. A dim icon means the current build cannot invest in it yet; you can still open its description to see what it does.

Start with a community build

The community section includes 43 allocations that pass the current planner rules, across all nine classes. They come from the public Talents Forever snapshot generated on September 17, 2026, covering September 12–17. Ranks, spec shares and talent pick rates belong to that source site. They are not Forever Atlas traffic measurements or rankings of damage, healing or survivability.

Load a build to bring its level and exact allocation into the trees. You can edit, save or share it, or restore your previous allocation from the notice above the trees. Loading does not overwrite named saves. Partial builds stay partial; two source builds that fail the current tier rules are excluded.

The optional pick-rate overlay shows source percentages weighted by shares, saves and opens. Treat this dated player sample as a way to discover talents to investigate, not proof of an optimal build. Each card links to its original allocation for comparison.

The field spellbook below has school tabs, page controls and in-site tooltips. Its records come from demo footage, separately from the Beta talent snapshot. Spell ranks do not imply training levels or change with the planner level.

Read requirements before spending deeper points

The planner checks the total budget, maximum rank, five-point row gates and named prerequisites. It also checks the remaining tree when you refund a point. If that refund would invalidate another talent, remove the dependent investment first. A tree reset refunds the whole tree and leaves the other two trees intact.

This matters when experimenting with a hybrid build. A point in a second tree reduces the budget available for reaching the bottom of the first, and a prerequisite can consume several ranks before a desired talent becomes available. Compare those opportunity costs directly instead of treating every attractive tooltip as a free addition.

What the Classic comparison tells you

Enable Compare Classic to reveal the source’s comparison notes. Dots flag talents whose status is not “same”; open the icon to read the recorded Classic text alongside the current rank. The Classic text is a source comparison excerpt, not a second complete rank simulator. A “new” label means new relative to that comparison tree, not necessarily a spell name never used in Warcraft before.

The class change notes remain a separate, selected reveal collection. The calculator has a newer, broader talent snapshot. For baseline spell descriptions, use the spellbook, where each record keeps its own demo-footage provenance instead of being relabeled as Beta talent data.

Save a plan you can revisit

Name a build and save it to this device. You can keep up to 20 named builds; using an existing name replaces that saved version. Switching classes retains drafts for the current page session. Closing the page ends that temporary draft session, so save or copy a link before leaving.

The shared URL records the class, planning level, ranks and data revision. It does not include your private build name. A malformed or incompatible allocation opens an empty planner with an explanation rather than silently assigning points to different talents.

Data and attribution

This calculator adapts the Talents Forever community export, generated September 17 and reviewed September 18, 2026, under CC BY 4.0. Its 468 talents span 27 trees and retain all source rank descriptions. The source identifies the talent build as 1.60.1.69876. We implemented the planning interface and validation; we have not independently checked these rules in the game client.

Original game icons and tooltip text belong to Blizzard Entertainment. Original English wording is retained to make rank values auditable. The Chinese interface translates navigation and guidance, but does not present invented translations as official localization.
