The new race in the familiar world

WoW Forever Skyborne are the new playable race introduced with Forever. Blizzard’s official store connects the race with the Zephras Isle starting experience and describes the surrounding world as a new path through Azeroth. The race can be explored as part of the wider Forever reveal, while its access requirements are a separate purchase question.

The image above is a frame from the official gameplay reveal at 1:39, where Blizzard introduces the Skyborne. It shows the announced race in the game presentation, but is not a complete inventory of appearances, abilities or final class options. Two factions, different preview options

The community transcription distinguishes Alliance Skyborne, labeled High Order, from Horde Skyborne, labeled Windshaper. Both entries list Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid. The additional caster option is listed as Mage on Alliance and Shaman on Horde.

That faction split is also reported in the WOWTBC.GG overview. Some first-day reporting reverses the two caster options, so the split remains explicitly marked as a preview report on this site. We have not independently checked the Beta character-creation screen.

For a view of every class and faction, open the race and class combinations table. Use the race comparison to view both variants together. Choosing a particular class filters out incompatible preview options. Remember that two panels in the tool can represent the same race on different factions; the comparison does not imply that a character can switch freely between them.

What the racial summaries currently show

The two entries share a short gliding ability, a passive haste trait and an advantage against elementals in the community transcription. The Alliance variant additionally lists a ley-line interaction connected with health and mana regeneration. The Horde variant lists a blessing connected with movement speed.

These are concise descriptions, not independently verified spell tooltips. We intentionally omit exact percentages, durations and cooldowns. A small number copied incorrectly from an event recording can produce a large error when someone uses it to compare a build.

Names, ability interactions and the size of a bonus can change before launch. The community source explains that its information was transcribed from preview recordings, and the creator’s discussion includes corrections. Check the source and the latest client before drawing conclusions about balance.

What is required to play a Skyborne?

The official collection page confirms that its included digital content unlocks Skyborne and the Zephras Isle starting experience. It also says that World of Warcraft, including Forever, requires a subscription or game time. Those are separate facts: ongoing access to the game and access to an optional race should not be treated as the same entitlement.

This guide does not attempt to reproduce every regional edition or price. Visit the current official shop in your region to check which product includes the race and which product includes Beta access. Product names and eligibility can differ, and a physical collection’s shipping date is not the game’s launch date.

Questions to settle during Beta

If Skyborne is on your shortlist, verify the class selection first. Next, inspect the actual racial tooltips on your chosen faction and test the behavior that matters to you. A glide’s practical value depends on how and where it works, while a regeneration effect may have conditions that a short summary does not capture.

Appearance and starting-zone preference can also matter more than an early numerical comparison. Watch the official gameplay trailer for the reveal’s presentation and use the world guide for what is known about Zephras Isle. No final racial ranking is available from this snapshot.
