Real questions, checked against the announcement
WoW Forever community questions are already more specific than “what is the game?” Players want to know whether they can join their friends, use their existing setup and keep their characters. This page draws question topics from the September 12 r/wow community questions thread, a Beta discussion and the Classic feature discussion. All were read on September 13.
These are discussion threads, not developer interviews. We paraphrase the questions and answer from Blizzard where an answer is available. Not established means our checked sources do not settle it; it does not mean the feature is impossible or has been ruled out.
Do I need to buy Forever separately?
Official announcement. The Forever game page says the base experience is included with an active WoW subscription. Optional upgrades have separate benefits. Check which benefit you actually want before interpreting “included” as covering every race, cosmetic or testing entitlement.

Is paying the only way to get into Beta?
Official opt-in exists. The game page offers a chance to be selected, while named editions include access. The Beta discussion contains both ideas, which is why a simple “yes” or “no” answer can mislead. An opt-in confirmation is not an invitation.
Use the dated access table and then check your own account through Blizzard. No community thread can tell us which invitation or entitlement your account has received.
Will it work on a Mac or a controller?
Officially listed: Windows and Mac appear on the game page; gamepad support appears in the panel recap. A platform label does not establish performance on every machine, and controller support does not establish a console release.
If your setup is the deciding factor, look for the actual system requirements and try the controls that matter to you. We do not supply an invented hardware benchmark or promise a frame rate.
Do we start fresh, and can existing characters transfer?
Not established in the directly checked official sources. Players ask about this in the community questions thread, and replies offer interpretations. We did not verify a direct Blizzard statement in that thread specifying transfer eligibility, retained progression or Beta-to-live persistence.
Those are three different questions. Keep a returning guild’s plan flexible until a policy addresses your exact character and source realm. Neither a new game experience nor an early name-reservation window automatically proves a transfer rule.
Can I keep a Classic appearance and ignore transmog?
Partly answered officially. Visual options and opt-in transmog are announced. The systems guide separates those settings and highlights the visibility questions still open in our sources.
For example, wanting your own original armor appearance and wanting to hide everyone else’s transmog are different preferences. A report that mentions a “toggle” does not, on its own, establish both behaviors.
Does a dungeon finder teleport the group?
Not established here. The feature discussion includes questions about group finding. We have not verified an official specification that settles automatic matching and teleportation together.
Plan for the information you have: gather compatible characters and identify the announced dungeon you want to explore. A full travel or queue guide needs evidence from the actual system.
Which class or race is best already?
The available data cannot establish that. Our change explorer records 42 selected entries, including named ability reports for five more classes. It does not contain the complete coefficients, encounter assumptions, gear and tested interactions needed for a reliable ranking.
Choose the role and mechanics you enjoy, compare race options, and keep the exact source beside a change that influences your decision. A community transcription is useful evidence of a preview, but it is not a damage simulation.
What should I check next?
Pick one unanswered question that affects your own plans. Save its official source, the date and the exact condition you need to test. A useful observation says which build or setting was used and what happened. Until that evidence exists, an honest gap is more useful than a confident guess.
