Pick a tool by the missing function
| Need | Author’s tool | Version checked |
|---|---|---|
| Identify unfinished kill or loot objectives on nameplates | Forever Quest Mark | 1.0.1, September 19 |
| Move windows and remember their positions | Forever Move | 1.0.1, September 19 |
| See seal timers and chosen cooldowns together | Forever Paladin Cooldown Tracker | 1.0.2, September 20 |
All three projects are maintained by Uggezen. These are versions observed on September 22, not a promise that the same file will remain newest. The author describes them as built for Forever Beta, although the inspected files are categorized under Retail. Check the project description and intended client rather than assuming every Retail addon is compatible.
Install into the client you actually play
The author’s installation method is to copy the addon’s folder into the Forever installation’s Interface/AddOns directory and reload the UI.
- Exit the game before copying files. Locate the installation belonging to the Forever Beta entry you launch, not a different WoW installation.
- Download the chosen file from its project page and extract it.
- Copy the named addon folder into
Interface/AddOns. Avoid leaving it inside an extra ZIP-wrapper folder. - Start the client and check its addon list. Enable only the new tool for your first check, then test it outside combat.
The expected folder names are ForeverQuestMark, ForeverMove and ForeverPaladinCooldownTracker. Do not move your whole existing addon collection just to try one feature.
Quest markers: check one objective
The author describes separate kill and loot icons with objective progress; completed objectives stop being marked. /fqm displays settings, /fqm size <n> changes icon size, and /fqm reset restores defaults.
Our first check: choose an unfinished objective already in your journal, inspect a relevant enemy’s nameplate and compare the marker with the journal. If it does not match, record the quest and addon version rather than treating the marker as authoritative. This tool is not a route planner or a source for XP rewards.
Window placement: move, then reopen
Forever Move is documented to save window positions. Hover a window and use /fm to make it draggable; /fm reset clears saved positions.
Try one window away from combat, close it, then open it again. Leave enough room for tooltips and your quest tracker. Record your preferred layout before using reset, which discards this addon’s saved positions.
Paladin timers: configure your own spells
The tracker has separate buff bars and cooldown icons. Open its settings with /fpct or by right-clicking a bar or icon. The author allows choosing spells and unlocking the trackers for movement; /fpct reset restores defaults.
The default seal match uses the English text Seal of. On a localized client, verify the configured names against your active buff instead of assuming localization works automatically. We have not verified Chinese-client matching. Start with a spell you have actually learned and check its timer against the client tooltip.
If it fails, keep the diagnosis narrow
Disable the newly added tool and reload before changing unrelated settings. If the issue disappears, keep the client build, addon version and reproduction steps for the author. If it remains, compare it with the official Beta known issues.
Do not use a timer addon as evidence that a talent or cooldown was buffed. For game effects, read the spellbook and current client tooltip; for character planning, use the talent calculator.
